Master's Thesis — Model Context Protocol: Opportunities for Open Data Utilization in AI Development
The primary objective of this research is to demonstrate the technical feasibility of MCP with Statistics Finland's PxWeb API and develop an "intelligent" MCP server prototype that accumulates knowledge from new datasets. The study focuses on Statistics Finland's StatFin data as the primary source, with technical implementation at proof-of-concept level. This research produces the first Finnish academic analysis of MCP's application to national statistical data and introduces a novel approach to developing "learning" data integration solutions.
